It turns out that Stranger Things flavor 4 and Black Widow take more than in common that just the charming actor David Harbour. And this is your warning: expect small spoilers (one of which has basically been revealed by trailers) below.

In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Harbour explained a surprising attribute nigh what information technology's like to be in ii big properties at the same time. And we're wondering if Henry Cavill is taking notes, as it reminds us of his Mission: Impossible - Fallout and Justice League result.

Basically, Harbour realized his roles in Stranger Things flavour 4 and Blackness Widow were too similar. In a moment that reminds usa of when Antz and A Bug's Life came out the same season, Harbour is a dude in a Russian prison in both projects. The simply difference? Stranger Things' next season is likely due out in 2022, long after Black Widow hits theaters on July 9, 2021.

Harbour began past explaining how he was the i who felt uncomfortable with a certain similarity, as information technology turns out we meet Shostakov in prison. The role player told Kimmel: "I'd grown out my pilus then I got cast in this other thing [Editor's note: he probable ways Black Widow] to play a Russian prisoner. So I had this long pilus and this bristles, and I was like big and I thought, 'I can't exist the same guy with long hair and a beard in the same prison.'"

We don't know if the Duffers agreed with him that this was a major problem, but Harbour began some snooping work on set that Marvel pic leakers would likely impale for, "taking pictures of the [Black Widow] gear up unbeknownst to anyone and sending them to The Duffer Brothers [Stranger Things' showrunners]." Why did they need the assets? Harbour wanted to make "sure they didn't use whatsoever of the same colors equally the ready and the look was unlike and the outfits were different."

Eventually Harbour decided that the hair was the step-too-far telling the Duffers "Guys we can't do this, I'1000 coming out with this Curiosity movie, I can't accept the beard and the hair." So that'southward why Hopper'due south got a baldheaded head this season.

Interesting, correct? This is the kind of thing that Stranger Things fans probably didn't call back about when they saw Hopper'south new look in the get-go Stranger Things flavor four trailer. That said, nosotros're happier for the alter, equally the shaved head makes it look like Hopper's been through a lot in this Russian prison.
